Isn't this girl, Lin Miaoke, cute:
Here she is "singing" the national anthem at the opening ceremony for the Olympic games.Well as cnn reports,
"Yang Peiyi had the perfect voice, but Lin Miaoke had the perfect face."Apparently this little girl was cuter, so she lip-synced to seven year old Yang Peiyi's voice.
"The singer was Yang Peiyi, who was not allowed to appear because she is not as 'flawless' as nine-year-old Lin...'it was in the country's best interest'"
What does that even mean 'it was in the country's best interest'?
SHE'S SEVEN. And she is pretty darn cute (below left)!
The director of the show, Zhang Yimou, claimed that "The child on camera should be flawless in image, internal feelings, and expression. Lin Miaoke is excellent in those aspects. But in the aspect of voice, Yang Peiyi is flawless."I would think, especially in a time when many Olympians are turning out to be falsely representing themselves with the use of performance-enhancers, the hosts of the games should lead the way in example setting. I guess even if you're not an athlete you have to be perfect. EVEN IF YOU'RE SEVEN. Way to be China.

How about the controversy that three of the six women gymnasts are under age (won't be 16 in 2008). Same deal.
