A close friend of mine is a Statistician, and she often gets her feathers ruffled when she feels numbers are manipulated, or misrepresented to convince an audience of something, but these are astounding statistics! I wonder how that statistic was collected.
On another site, describing WMM, they noted that "it is estimated that women hold more than 51% of the personal wealth in the United States, and they are set to inherit trillions of dollars more as the World War II generation begins to transfer its wealth. Women are expected to control 60% of the wealth in the United States by 2010."
I wonder what is causing the shift? Is that only in the US? Why would that be? Why are 70% of those living in poverty women?

i never would've guessed that women hold the majority of the wealth in this country! i have it in my head that men hold most of the power / positions of power, and i always associate power with money...
