Rape Trees

On sunday I was down in imperial beach and you can see Mexico from there. There is quite a bit of uninhabited land between imperial beach (southern most part) and Tijuana.

Over here you get quite a few more border stories. There was recently a story on the news about Rape trees.

A new method of marking territory has crossed over into the United States. "Rape trees" are popping up in Southern Arizona and their significance is horrific and disgusting. These "rape trees" are places where cartel members and coyotes rape female border crossers and hang their clothes, specifically undergarments, to mark their conquest and territory.

It disturbed me to no end, thinking about how terrified these women must have been, giving up everything to try and get across the border, and to ultimately be betrayed by someone who said they would help. Sick.
